Just 400 meters from Stresa, sailing north-east in the Borromean Gulf, the terraces of the Italian botanical garden of Isola Bella catch the eye of those who sail the waters of the lake.isola Bella<\/a>It was Count Carlo III Borromeo who bought it and dedicated it to his wife, Countess Isabella D\u2019Adda, and started construction work on the island of his summer residence on Lake Maggiore.\nThe works were completed by his son, Vitaliano VI Borromeo, who decided to build this complex of Baroque art with ten terraces full of remarkable plants and flowers: rhododendrons, oleanders and a very rich collection of camellias brought as a gift by various guests from all over the world. exotic botanical species, flowers and bulbs that color the flower beds, parterre and hedges, all cared for by the skilful hand of gardeners led by the award-winning Gianfranco Giustina. \nThe Massimo Theater, an architectural complex consisting of niches and statues, crowned by the Liocorn of the Borromeo house, which in the past served as a side dish to the events of the noble family, opens access to the terraces, which lead to a panoramic point with a splendid view of Lake Maggiore. Before entering the garden, one crosses the no less important Palazzo, where, in April 1935, the Stresa conference was discussed: the representatives of the Italian, French and English governments (Mussolini, Laval and Mac Donald) gathered trying to guarantee the peace in Europe. Today, from March to October, the 25 rooms destined to the Museum of the Borromeo Palace can be visited with Specialized Tourist Guides and offer the tourist unforgettable moments and emotions and lead to the Italian garden defined as one of the finest examples of Baroque art applied to botany in Italy.<\/p>\n\r\r\n\t\t<\/div>\r\r\n\t
